Wonderful and treditional Vienna band, Hoch- und Deutschmeister! 帝国連隊楽団『歩兵第4連隊ホッホ・ウント・ドイッチュマイスター』

Hi everyone!

Though you already know, I've been painted the Austria-Hungary Empire uniform illustration for history research in recent years, and was able to self-publishing the artbook for Armistice 100th anniversary of the First World War in this 19 August. I'd love to thank many times for my family and friends who supported me.

Artwork (a part) by Kumiko Sakaki

By the way, in my artbook there is the illustration, "Oberleutnant of k.u.k. Infanterieregiment Hoch- und Deutschmeister Nr. 4". Surprisely and amazily, Wonderful band from Wien in Austria, Hoch- und Deutschmeister k.u.k Wiener Regimentskapelle IR4 found my uniform illustration, and they were introduced my illustration on your Instagram page.

Yes, he in my artwork wears the same uniform color Himmelblau with the band :-) It’s my favorite color.

their album "300 Jahre Maria Theresia"

As many music lovers or history researchers have knew, Deutschmeister band has a long history. Yes, the band has been activated traditionally from before Austria-Hungary era by many members, so we can still go to listen their music. This tradition is gradely priceless, and their album "300 Jahre Maria Theresia" (I have it) is great, stirring and powerful. Their band performances are amazing. "Ich freue mich, dass Sie meine Oberleutnant der IR4 gefunden haben. Ich wünsche Ihnen viel Glück und Gesundheit. Vielen Dank!" is all I can come up with now genuinely :-)

Let's check it!

After the nuclear disaster in Fukushima, “Kizuna Projekt Wien” was established by thanks to the effort of  commanding officer of the Regimentskapelle, Major (iTr) Erich Kojeder and his wife Prof. Yukari Kojeder-Sakai mainly. I'm honner both countries cherish this friendship.
I heard from them they will perform at new event on next year. Austria and Japan will celebrate the 150th anniversary of our Friendship in 10 March 2019

Now,  I'm able to write the Japanese article of them through the kindness of the secretariat of Hoch- und Deutschmeister "k. u. k. Wiener Regimentskapelle IR4". He helped to write the English article for me. Thank you for all your help.  Now, let me tell you in Japanese language about the best Vienna brass band.

モーリス・ラヴェルの第一次世界大戦 Maurice Ravel in Great War

Maurice Ravel by deSingel International Arts Campus
Maurice Ravel on Flickr.

I may not look it, I've been taken the piano lesson from 4 years old to 15 years old. Now I can just play this a little because I have a long blank.
Joseph-Maurice Ravel. He is dandy and funny... When I was a teenager, I've felt that. I've often read many composers episode. His work "Le Tombeau de Couperin" is written for his friends. They were passed away by Great War battle. This piano suite is composed between 1914 and 1917. Ravel himself drew the first edition cover.

I recommend Lithuanian-born French pianist Vlado Perlemuter version as historical value. Perlemuter and Ravel had friendship.

VI. Toccata by Vlado Perlemuter

I. Prélude for Jacques Charlot.
He was a French musician and fought as a Lieutenant in the army. (-March 3, 1915)
And Claude Debussy was made "En blanc et noir - 2. Lent. Sombre" for Charlot.

II. Fugue for Jean Cruppi.
He was a French musician and fought as  a Lieutenant in the French army. (-1914-18)

III. Forlane For Gabriel Deluc.
He was a French painter (1883 Saint-Jean-de-Luz - 1916 Souain-Perthes-lès-Hurlus).

IV. Rigaudon for Pierre and Pascal Gaudin.
Pierre(1878-1914) and Pascal(1883-1914) were working in the fish trading business.
It was their father's work. Both died in battle at November 12.

V. Menuet for Jean Dreyfus.
Ravel and Dreyfus family had friendship. Dreyfus died in battle at late 1916 or 1917.

VI. Toccata for Joseph de Marliave.
He was a French musicologist and has published the book "Beethoven's Quartets".

Piano Concerto for the Left Hand in D major by Paul Wittgenstein

And Ravel has written "Le Concerto pour la main gauche en ré majeur" for Austrian Pianist Paul Wittgenstein. He is an older brother of philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein. Paul lost his right hand in WWI. So, he did request some piano tunes for his left hand to some composers(Ravel is included in them). Lavelle oneself told, "It was a very interesting experience".

On November 27 1931, the premiere of this music was carried out in Vienna, but Paul couldn't play it according to score because it was too difficult tune, and Paul did added his arrangement without Ravel's permission. And Paul criticized Ravel. So, their relationship became bad.

Sometimes, our friend relationship becomes difficult. Maybe it can say that it became to so for their professional prides. We can't say that one is right and the other is wrong.
Oops, I departed from the main talk very much!

Ravel himself also was the French army driver during the war. Ravel tried to be pilot for his light weight and 5ft body, but he couldn't it, so became to driver.
In other side, Hitler had joined as Unteroffizier in German force. Of course, von Richthofen brothers and his fellows in the sky, too.

Remembrance Day - WW1

Hello all.

Today was WWI armistice agreement day. it did at 11 am on 11 November 1918. All soldier left for the heaven. Of course you know, they called Remembrance Day or Poppy Day.

German Lieutenant Tomas(独トーマス少尉), US Sergeant Henry Gunther(米ヘンリー・ギュンター軍曹、ドイツ系アメリカ人), Irish Private George Edwin Ellison(英ジョージ・エドウィン・エリソン), French soldier Augustin Trébuchon(仏オーギュスタン・トレブション), and Canadian Buck Private George Lawrence Price(加ジョージ・プライス) were included to this. Price was the last fallen. These Officers and Soldiers died in this war by soldiers who had not been told about the ceasefire.

Now my icon has put the Remembrance poppy. I closed my eyes and imagined poppy flowers in the battlefields of Flanders. I had a moment of silence. I have never met with them, but I will and "We Will Remember Them."
